The Scratch AI golf app, and the alternatives
Scratch AI, by Scratch Technologies, puts three things in one subscription: an AI caddy on the course, a swing analyzer and a lesson program. If you are weighing it up, the questions are what it costs, whether you need all three, and which app does the part you want. Each app below is described from its own listing.

More than one app is called Scratch
Check the maker. This page is about Scratch AI - Play Better Golf, by Scratch Technologies LLC. ScratchAiGolf, by Gradens Technologies LLC, is another AI caddie. Scratch Golf Academy - Trainer is a companion app with tempo trainers and a green reader. They are separate products, and none of them is related to Morris.
What Scratch AI does
On the course, by its listing, an AI caddy recommends the club and the shot from your own game and the conditions, helps you plan each hole before you tee off and answers questions during the round, on the phone or on the Apple Watch with live yardages and scoring. Off the course, a swing analyzer and lessons designed by Brian Phelps, PGA, feed a practice roadmap that refreshes every four weeks.
Two things to check first: the listing is in English only, and we did not find the app on Google Play when we searched on 4 November 2026.
Pick by the job
- 1
A caddy for every shot
Scratch AI, or Hole19 Intelligence with its AI caddie, «Otto». If you want your own numbers to decide, read about AI caddies below.
- 2
GPS and scorecard first
The free plans of 18Birdies and Hole19. Both add AI features on the paid plans: an AI swing analyzer in 18Birdies Premium, AI round reports in Hole19 Intelligence.
- 3
Only the swing
GolfFix analyzes a video, names the issues and gives you lessons and drills, with a monthly report.
- 4
A coach, not a dashboard
Morris reads your rounds and your swing videos and answers on WhatsApp, in your language, with one thing to practise and its drill. He tells you which club from your Garmin distances, but he does not advise during a competition round.
