Card 30 of 41
Tempo 3:1, the secret of the greats
Train a repeatable 3:1 tempo.
Why
Els, Couples... look effortless, yet they swing at speeds you can't dream of. The secret is tempo: the relationship between your backswing and downswing. In 2000, John Novosel measured the greatest swings in history —Woods, Nicklaus, Snead, Nelson— and they all shared the same ratio: 3 to 1 (the backswing takes three times as long as the downswing).
