This is a translation to help you read it. The Spanish original prevails where the two differ, except for rights your country's law does not allow to be reduced.
Rule 1Who is who
Who am I dealing with, legally?
You are talking to me, and I am an AI. Behind me is Badgie, a Spanish company: that is who you agree these rules with, and who answers for what I do.
- 1.1
Morris is a service of BADGIE SPORTS APP SL (“Badgie”), tax ID B56858582, registered at Calle Diego de León 52, 28006 Madrid (España). You can write to us at hello@badgie.com.
- 1.2
These Terms govern your use of Morris in all its forms: the WhatsApp conversation, the morris.golf website and its tools, the swing analyzer, your private space, the AI assistants you connect and the Morris app.
- 1.3
You accept them when you continue through sign-up, when you message Morris or when you use the app. If you do not agree with them, do not use Morris.
- 1.4
Morris shares its account, rounds, reports and Pro subscription with the Badgie Golf app. What you do inside that app is also governed by its own terms. If a school or club has signed you up to Badgie, whatever you agreed with them stays between you and them.
- 1.5
How we handle your personal data is explained separately in the Privacy Policy. Please read it: it is no formality, because Morris works with what you tell it.
- 1.6
Each rule opens with a short conversation to help you find your way. That conversation is not the contract: where it differs from the numbered text, the numbered text prevails.
Rule 2Morris is an AI
Is there a person on the other end?
No. I am artificial intelligence and I can get things wrong. Sometimes a person at Badgie reviews what we talk about and, very occasionally, may write to you to correct me.
- 2.1
Morris is an artificial intelligence system. Its answers are generated by language models from other companies, which Badgie directs with its instructions, its golf knowledge and the tools it gives Morris. It has a name and a way of speaking, but it is not a person.
- 2.2
AI answers can be false, incomplete or out of date, and they can sound very sure of themselves even then. That goes for rules, distances, handicaps, swing analysis, reading scorecards and anything else. Check whatever matters to you before you act on it, especially if something is at stake.
- 2.3
Morris can also misread a photo, a voice note or a video, confuse one person with another of the same name, or attribute data to you that is not yours. If you spot a mistake, tell it: it will correct it, and that helps stop it happening again.
- 2.4
Authorised people at Badgie may read conversations and watch videos to review and improve Morris, as explained in rule 10 of the Privacy Policy. Exceptionally, someone on the team may send you a message on this same line, for instance to correct a wrong answer.
- 2.5
Badgie may change the models Morris uses and have it answer with a simpler one when demand is high or a spending cap is reached. So the quality, tone and speed of answers may vary.
- 2.6
Morris does not take decisions about you that have legal effects or affect you in a significant way. It decides what to answer, what to remember and when to write to you, and you can correct all of that.
Rule 3What Morris does
What exactly are you for?
Your golf: rules, which club to take, your handicap, your swing and your rounds. What I do changes over time, and not everything is available in every country.
- 3.1
Morris answers golf and rules questions, helps you prepare for a round or a course, analyses swing videos, reads scorecards and screenshots, checks your rounds and handicap if you connect your services, suggests practice and reminds you of what you ask it to.
- 3.2
The website also has a swing analyzer that needs no account, plus guides and reference tools. The app has a GPS scorecard, shot tracing, course views and other features; some require a subscription, as explained in rule 14.
- 3.3
Morris is an evolving service: we may add, change, limit or withdraw features. If we withdraw something essential from a paid subscription in force, we will tell you with reasonable notice and respect your rights as a consumer.
- 3.4
Some features depend on your country, language, federation or device. For example, bringing in your official record requires a federation that can be connected, and the app does not offer the same on iOS and Android.
- 3.5
Morris is for your personal use in golf. If you want to use it for your club, your academy or your business, or to build it into another product, write to us first.
Rule 4Who can use it
Can my 12-year-old talk to you?
Not on their own: you have to be at least 14. If you want me to look at their swing, you can send it to me from your own account.
- 4.1
You must be at least 14 to use Morris. If your country sets a higher age for accepting this service or for having your data processed, you also need permission from your parent or guardian.
- 4.2
We do not ask for documents to check this at sign-up: by using Morris you declare that you meet this requirement. If we learn that an account belongs to someone below that age, we may close it and delete their data.
- 4.3
If you are between 14 and 17, do not buy subscriptions without your parent's or guardian's permission. Accounts of minors registered with a federation also have a protected mode in the social part of Badgie Golf.
- 4.4
A parent or guardian may send Morris a minor child's swing from their own account, on the conditions in rule 10. That does not make the child a Morris user.
- 4.5
Your phone number identifies your account and is personal. Do not share it or use a number that is not yours. If you change or lose your number, tell us: whoever holds that number could carry on the conversation as if they were you.
Rule 5Signing up
How do I start?
You enter your mobile number, open WhatsApp and write to me. If you stop halfway, I may send you one single message to help you get going.
- 5.1
On the website we only ask for your mobile number. Morris asks for your name, level and goals in the chat, and you decide what to tell it. What you tell it must be true and must not belong to someone else without their permission.
- 5.2
If you leave your number and tap to open WhatsApp but do not actually write, Morris may send you one single message to help you get started, never in the middle of the night. If you do not reply, it does not insist.
- 5.3
Each new number that talks to Morris creates a golf account at Badgie, the same one the Badgie Golf app uses. If you already had one, Morris can link it to you.
- 5.4
You may arrive through a club's link, an invitation or an ad. That does not change these rules, but where you came from is recorded, as explained in rule 2 of the Privacy Policy.
- 5.5
You can stop using Morris whenever you like, at no cost and without notice. Stopping does not delete your data: for that, follow rule 17 of the Privacy Policy.
Rule 6WhatsApp
Are you part of WhatsApp?
No. WhatsApp belongs to Meta and I am just another contact in your phone. If WhatsApp fails or cuts my line, I will not be able to answer you there.
- 6.1
Morris uses WhatsApp as a channel, but it is not a product of WhatsApp or Meta, and neither of them sponsors or endorses it. To use WhatsApp you need your own account and must comply with its terms.
- 6.2
Morris's number is Spanish because Badgie is in Spain. WhatsApp does not charge you for writing to it, although your carrier may charge you for the data you use.
- 6.3
The channel depends on third parties. WhatsApp may limit, block or change access for the Morris line at any time, and the line may have outages or delays. A message may arrive late, twice or not at all. Do not use Morris for anything urgent.
- 6.4
If the line changes number or stops being available, we will try to let you know and keep offering you the service another way, but we cannot guarantee it.
- 6.5
Morris's public line is designed for one-to-one conversations. If you add it to a group, it may not reply.
- 6.6
If you forward what Morris tells you or share screenshots, you do so at your own responsibility. Check that you are not revealing other people's data.
Rule 7What Morris is not
Morris told me I could drop without penalty and the committee says no. Who is right?
The committee, always. I explain the Rules and give you the number so you can check, but I am not a referee.
- 7.1
Morris is not a referee or a competition body. In a tournament, the committee decides. If Morris gets it wrong, the penalty, the disqualification or the lost prize stands, and Badgie is not liable for them.
- 7.2
In competition you may ask it about the Rules, but not for advice on which club to use or how to play the stroke: Rule 10.2a penalises that. Complying with that Rule, with Rule 4.3 on the use of devices and with local rules is your responsibility, even if Morris reminds you.
- 7.3
Morris does not issue official handicaps. Your handicap, licence and official results belong to your federation. What Morris calculates or summarises is for guidance, even when it starts from official data.
- 7.4
Although we present it as your coach, Morris is not a qualified professional and does not replace one. Its technical advice is general and based on what it can see or read.
- 7.5
Data on courses, distances, tournaments, prices, products and other apps may be incomplete or out of date. Check with whoever publishes it before you book, buy or travel.
- 7.6
Morris does not give medical, legal or financial advice. If you ask, it will at most point you in a general direction and send you to a professional.
Rule 8Health and safety
My back hurts when I turn. What should I do?
See a physio or a doctor. I do not diagnose or prescribe exercises for an injury. If you tell me about it, I will remember so I can take it into account.
- 8.1
Morris is not a medical device, does not diagnose and does not treat any illness or injury. If you have pain or an injury, see a healthcare professional. In an emergency, call your country's emergency services (112 in the European Union), not Morris.
- 8.2
Golf and the exercises Morris suggests are physical activity. Adapt them to your condition, stop if you feel pain and check first if you have any pre-existing condition. You do them at your own responsibility, within what the law allows.
- 8.3
Morris can talk about focus, nerves or the yips as part of the game. That is not psychological care. If you are really struggling, talk to a professional or someone you trust.
- 8.4
On the course, safety comes first. Do not use Morris while driving a car or a buggy, and always heed the club's rules, storms and other players. A recommendation from Morris never justifies a dangerous shot.
- 8.5
The distances and location shown by the app are approximate. They can be wrong because of GPS, the course map or your device.
- 8.6
If you tell Morris something about your health, it is handled as explained in rule 7 of the Privacy Policy.
Rule 9Fair play
Can I use you for whatever I want?
For your golf, as much as you like. To bother others, impersonate someone or try to get out of me what I should not say, no.
- 9.1
By using Morris you agree not to:
- do anything illegal, or harass, threaten or defame anyone;
- pass yourself off as someone else, or connect accounts that are not yours;
- send sexual or violent content or content that infringes the rights of others, and under no circumstances sexual content involving minors;
- upload data about other people that you have no right to share;
- try to make Morris reveal its instructions, other players' data or access keys, or get round its limits with tricks in messages, files or links;
- use bots, automation or mass sending against the service, systematically extract its content, or attack or overload its systems;
- resell Morris, put your brand on it or use its answers to train or build a product that competes with it.
- 9.2
If you break this rule we may ignore your messages, limit features, suspend your access or close your account, and keep what we need to defend ourselves or inform the authorities. If the breach is not serious, we will try to warn you first.
- 9.3
If you see something that breaks these rules or your rights, write to us at hello@badgie.com. We will review it and get back to you.
Rule 10Your content
Who owns the videos I send you?
You do. You give us permission to store them, analyse them and use them to improve Morris, and you can ask us to remove them.
- 10.1
Everything you send Morris (messages, voice notes, photos, scorecards, documents and videos) remains yours or belongs to whoever holds the rights. These Terms do not take that away.
- 10.2
You give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, reproduce, transcribe, crop, extract frames from, analyse and transform that content, with our providers, for as long as needed to provide the service to you.
- 10.3
That licence also covers improving and training Morris, including swing analysis and shot tracing, as set out in rule 10 of the Privacy Policy. You can object and ask us to remove your videos as that rule explains.
- 10.4
We will not use your name, image or videos in advertising for Morris or Badgie without asking your permission first.
- 10.5
If you send someone else's swing, photo or data, you confirm that you have the right to do so; if they are a minor, that you are their parent or guardian or have that person's permission. Morris keeps those swings apart from yours, without mixing them into your progress or what it remembers about you, as explained in rule 13 of the Privacy Policy.
- 10.6
If someone tells us with good reason that some content infringes their rights, we may remove it.
- 10.7
You are responsible for what you send. Keep your own copy of anything that matters to you: Morris is not a backup service.
Rule 11What Morris creates
Can I share the analysis you did for me?
Of course, it is for you. Remember that anyone with the link can see it, and that my brand and design remain ours.
- 11.1
As far as Badgie is concerned, you may use and share the answers, analyses, traces, cards, reports and summaries Morris generates for you. Badgie keeps its rights over the brand, templates, design and software used to generate them.
- 11.2
AI answers may not be protected by copyright, and someone else may receive similar ones. We do not guarantee exclusivity.
- 11.3
Some pieces are shared by link or carry a watermark or QR code. Anyone with the link can see them, and they may show your first name, your figures and your courses and, in the season summary, your playing partners' first names. Think about that before forwarding them. If you want to take a link down, write to us.
- 11.4
If someone signs up from a link you shared, we may record that they came through you. That gives you no right to any commission, unless a specific promotion says so.
- 11.5
Do not remove watermarks or present what Morris generates as a report signed by a professional, official federation data or a referee's decision.
Rule 12Connecting your services
Why do you want my federation password?
To bring in your official data and keep it up to date. Never give it to me in the chat: it goes on a morris.golf page and is stored encrypted.
- 12.1
Connecting Garmin, TrackMan, your federation, Badgie Golf, WAGR or other services is voluntary. Morris works without them, although it will know less about you.
- 12.2
When you connect a service you authorise us to access it on your behalf, only to read your golf data. You confirm that the account is yours and that you may authorise this under that service's terms.
- 12.3
Unless we say otherwise, those companies and federations have no relationship with Morris and have not approved it. Some connections are not official integrations from the manufacturer: they may fail, bring in incomplete data or stop working at any time, and the service's owner could limit your account. If that worries you, do not connect them.
- 12.4
Morris will never ask you for a password in the chat. If it ever seems to, do not type it and let us know. Passwords are entered only on morris.golf pages.
- 12.5
You can disconnect a service whenever you like, as explained in rule 6 of the Privacy Policy, which also sets out what is kept from each one. Disconnecting cuts access, but it does not delete everything already imported, such as your rounds: for that, follow its rule 17.
- 12.6
If you connect an AI assistant to your Morris account, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Cursor, that assistant will be able to read your Morris data and, if you authorise it, write to it. It is another company's service with its own terms. You can revoke the permission in your space.
Rule 13When Morris writes to you
Are you going to flood my WhatsApp?
That is not the idea. I write when there is something of yours worth saying. Tell me to stop and I stop.
- 13.1
Besides answering you, Morris may write on its own initiative: after a round, a handicap change, a tournament or a swing analysis; with a weekly summary; to pick up something left pending; or to tell you about a Badgie Golf friend's round. It will also send what you asked for, such as reminders.
- 13.2
There are limits: a daily cap, daytime hours in your time zone and a pause if you leave several messages in a row unanswered. These settings may change. Now and then the Badgie team may send you a specific message on this line, such as your season summary.
- 13.3
To make it stop writing, tell it in your own words (“stop writing to me”) or turn off the notices you want in your preferences. Messages already queued may take up to half an hour to stop, and it will still answer if you write to it.
- 13.4
If you say you want to unsubscribe, Morris takes that to mean you want to leave and sends you a link to delete your data. If you only want silence, say so.
- 13.5
If Morris keeps writing after you ask it not to, tell us at hello@badgie.com: it is a bug and we will fix it.
- 13.6
Morris may tell you about Morris news related to what you already use. We will not send you advertising from other companies without asking your permission first.
Rule 14Free and Pro
How much does this cost?
Talking to me on WhatsApp is free, and today I have no message limit. The app has an optional Pro subscription: you see the price before paying, and it is managed in the store.
- 14.1
Using Morris on WhatsApp and the website is free. There is no message limit today, although some features, such as video analysis, may have technical or fair-use limits, and we may curb abusive use.
- 14.2
We may introduce paid plans or limits in the future. We will tell you first, and we will never charge you for anything you have not expressly bought.
- 14.3
The app offers an optional subscription, Morris Pro, monthly or annual, with extra features. It is bought through your phone's store, which shows you the price, currency, taxes, length and, where there is one, the free trial before you confirm. On iOS, Apple's standard agreement also applies.
- 14.4
The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it in the store's settings, with the notice the store indicates. If there is a free trial, you will be charged when it ends unless you cancel first.
- 14.5
The Pro entitlement is shared between the Morris and Badgie Golf apps on the same account.
- 14.6
Deleting your account or no longer using Morris does not cancel the subscription: cancel it in the store.
- 14.7
Purchases and refunds are handled by the store under its rules, including the 14-day right of withdrawal you may have as a consumer in the European Union. If you ask for the service to start immediately, you may lose that right once it has started, as the store will tell you. None of this limits your legal rights if the service does not conform.
Rule 15Clubs, schools and spaces
If I join through my club, does my club read what I tell you?
No. Your conversations do not reach the club. At most it can see how many sign-ups came through its link, without names.
- 15.1
A club may invite you to Morris with a link or a code. You sign up yourself and you accept these rules yourself: the club does not contract on your behalf or hand us member lists, and joining this way costs you nothing.
- 15.2
If you are also a student at a school that uses Badgie, Morris may read, with your consent, what that school shares with you, such as reports, visible notes or practice plans. What is shared in each direction is in rule 14 of the Privacy Policy.
- 15.3
Morris's advice does not replace your coach's. If it contradicts what your school told you, talk to your coach.
- 15.4
Private spaces are closed groups, such as those of a tournament or an association. You have to ask to join, and Badgie may approve or revoke it. Inside, other members can see your photo, description, team, handicap, editions and points. Behave as you would in the clubhouse.
- 15.5
A club, a school or a space's organiser does not act on behalf of Badgie, and whatever they offer you outside Morris is their own affair.
Rule 16Other people's brands and content
Are you official with The R&A?
No. The Rules of Golf belong to The R&A and the USGA, and I explain them in my own words. If I mention another brand, it is to inform you, not because it endorses me.
- 16.1
Morris, its crest, design, texts, guides and software belong to Badgie or to those who license them to us. We let you use them in order to use the service, nothing more. Do not copy them or use them for your own product.
- 16.2
The Rules of Golf are the work of The R&A and the USGA. Morris is not affiliated with them or with any federation. It explains them in its own words and cites the rule number; the official text is the one that counts.
- 16.3
Garmin, TrackMan, WAGR, RFEG, WhatsApp, Apple, Google and other brands that appear in Morris belong to their owners. We name them or show their logos to identify the service we are talking about, which does not mean they sponsor or have approved us.
- 16.4
When Morris or our guides compare apps or products, they use public information, which may be out of date. If you spot a mistake, let us know and we will review it.
- 16.5
Morris learns from public golf sources and explains them in its own words. If you hold rights and believe something infringes yours, write to us at hello@badgie.com saying what the content is and why, and we will review it. We also remove any video from our lab at the justified request of its rights holder.
Rule 17If something goes wrong
If you make me card an 8 on the 18th, will you pay for it?
No. I do what I can to help, but I do not guarantee your scorecard. What the law protects stays protected.
- 17.1
We provide Morris with reasonable care, but as it is and as available. We do not guarantee that it will always work, that it is free of errors, that its answers are accurate or that you will improve your game or your handicap.
- 17.2
To the extent the law allows, Badgie is not liable for indirect damage or for the loss of prizes, bets, entries, bookings, rankings, opportunities or data, or for decisions made by relying on a Morris answer without checking it.
- 17.3
Nor is it liable for third-party services, such as WhatsApp, the app stores, model providers, Garmin, TrackMan, federations or clubs, or for outages of those services beyond our reasonable control.
- 17.4
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence or for harm to life or health, or limits the rights the law gives consumers and that cannot be waived, including the conformity of digital content and services.
- 17.5
We may suspend or close your access if you break these rules, if there is a security risk or if a law or an authority requires it. We may also stop offering Morris. If we do, we will give you reasonable notice where possible and you will be able to request your data.
- 17.6
If you break these rules and that causes harm to Badgie or to others, you will be liable for it as the law provides.
Rule 18Changes and governing law
And if you change these rules?
We tell you first if the change is important. The date at the top tells you which version applies, and if you do not like it you can leave at no cost.
- 18.1
We may change these Terms to fit the product, the law or what we learn. If the change is important, we will give you reasonable notice through the chat, the app or the website. If you keep using Morris afterwards, the new version applies. If you do not agree, you can stop using it and cancel what you bought before it takes effect.
- 18.2
If a court declares a clause void, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing a right at a given moment does not mean we waive it.
- 18.3
You may not transfer this contract to someone else. Badgie may transfer it to another company in its group or to whoever acquires the Morris business, telling you so and without reducing your rights.
- 18.4
These Terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the mandatory protection of the law of your country of residence and may bring a claim before the courts where you live. If you are not, the courts of Madrid have jurisdiction.
- 18.5
The original text is the Spanish one. Translations are offered to help you; where they differ, the Spanish prevails, except for rights your country's law does not allow to be reduced.
- 18.6
If you have a complaint, write to us first at hello@badgie.com. If you are not satisfied, you can go to the consumer services of your region or country. Morris is owned by BADGIE SPORTS APP SL, tax ID B56858582, Calle Diego de León 52, 28006 Madrid (España).
