Talayuela bears the signature of Severiano Ballesteros and was the first public course in Extremadura, opened in 2005. It has hosted federation events: the Spain-Portugal Junior International Match in 2007 and, in October 2009, the Spanish Senior Men's Professional Championship. It lies north of Navalmoral de la Mata, an hour and a half from Madrid, on the left bank of the Tiétar river, in a dehesa of oaks and holm oaks with the Sierra de Gredos in the background.
The fairways run through the vegetation and the holes open up different views of the sierra. Water is one of the main features of the course, and the greens, covering more than 12,000 square metres, weigh heavily on play. A round can change depending on where you leave the ball, which shot you choose and how you read each hole. There is a 5.5-hectare, 320-metre practice area, as well as a restaurant, a shop, club rental and a 4-star hotel with spa on site.
