In a tournament, Morris plays by the Rules

Switch on competition mode and, during the round, Morris gives you what the Rules allow and keeps the rest for when you finish.

During the round

  • Distances on the course
  • The weather forecast, wind included
  • The Rules of Golf
  • Your scorecard, hole by hole
  • The plan you made together before teeing off

When you finish

  • Which club to hit and where
  • The plays-like distance, with slope and wind
  • What today's shots say
  • Swing tips

It applies on WhatsApp, in the app's chat and in the AI assistants you connect to Morris.

When it turns on

  • When you switch it on, in the app or by telling Morris on WhatsApp: “I'm playing a tournament tomorrow at 9”.
  • On its own, during rounds of Badgie tournaments and official handicap rounds.
  • On its own, half an hour before your tee time in a Badgie tournament.

It switches off when you close your round or when the time you chose is up. Only you can switch it off sooner: a connected assistant cannot.

What the Rules say

Rule 4.3a: during the round, a device may give you distances and the weather forecast. It may not measure slope or wind on the course, turn a distance into a club or a line, or process data from the round you are playing.

Rule 10.2a: during the round you may ask only your caddie for advice.

Morris helps you follow the Rules, and you remain responsible for them. Each tournament committee can add Local Rules, such as banning distance-measuring devices (Model Local Rule G-5): read them before you tee off.
